Food Trucks are Awesome!
From Arepas to hot dogs, they have become a staple at events, festivals, and various gatherings, attracting crowds eager to indulge in tasty treats on the go. However, while food trucks provide an exciting opportunity for trying new foods and reliable favourites, like the ubiquitous spiral potato, it's more than just kind to consider the needs of individuals with dietary restrictions.
We often find it difficult to plan for events. Not knowing what is available means we must pack our own food or risk going hungry – not a great option with kids in tow! Community events are all about coming together and enjoying what's available, so we are here to help! Here are some fantastic reasons we have decided to add Food trucks to the Eat Choice family. Check the dining option on your restaurant and look for ‘Food Truck’ You can see where your favourite will be next.

Food trucks are delicious
Food trucks have transformed how we experience street food, offering diverse and delicious options. They are mini restaurants with a greatest hits menu. A small space and continual movement mean operators must have a keen sense of what sells. You are guaranteed a 'best of 'once you find the cuisine you are looking for. We love that Spud Stop just does spuds, with the best toppings. Or Raclette Team, cheesy potatoes are the best and Komeko Miya has wicked sushi. Of course, for the ultimate in safe eating and indulgence you can’t go past OMG! Decadent donuts, who currently hold the record for the most inclusive items on the app. I can confirm they are delicious no matter where you find them.

Food trucks are good for the community
Food trucks also foster community and connection. They often operate at local events, farmers' markets, and street fairs, We have seen them at just about every single event you can imagine. From Asian inspired Night Noodle markets to the Scottish Hororata games, our communities come together to celebrate our diversity through food.
Stop packing snacks!
So, how are we helping? We are partnering with some of NZ's most beloved food trucks to include on our App. No more lugging around full back packs at events or feeling obligated to eat what you brought when you accidentally find a gem. No more going hungry when you chance it and discover the gem from last time has moved on! When you search for options, you can filter for food trucks and see who will be where. No matter if you are looking for vegan, keto or gluten-free, we have a choice for you!
